A minimum of 42 inches of clearance is required between the island and surrounding counters to allow for comfortable movement. If two people frequently cook together, we recommend 48 inches. The island's height should be a standard 36 inches, though 'waterfall' edges can add a dramatic modern touch.

Functionality is key. Will the island house a prep sink, a dishwasher, or a microwave drawer? We ensure the necessary plumbing and electrical are integrated seamlessly during the rough-in phase. We also consider seating: each person requires at least 24 inches of width for comfort.
