NBC 9.16: Surface Drainage Standards

NBC Section 9.16 outlines the requirements for surface drainage of building sites to prevent water from entering the building or damaging the foundation.

9.16.2.1. Grading. The ground surface shall be graded so that surface water will drain away from the building.

9.16.3.1. Catch Basins. Where surface water cannot be drained by grading, catch basins or other suitable drainage systems shall be provided.
