NBC 9.10.15: Fire Protection for Residential Occupancies

9.10.15.1. Scope. This Subsection applies to fire protection for residential occupancies in buildings of not more than 3 storeys in building height.

9.10.15.2. Fire-Resistance Ratings. Walls, floors and roofs shall have fire-resistance ratings as prescribed to prevent the spread of fire between units.

9.10.15.4. Smoke Alarms. Smoke alarms shall be installed in every dwelling unit and shall be interconnected so that all alarms sound if one is triggered.
