NBC 9.21: Chimneys and Flues Standards

9.21.1.1. Scope. This Section applies to the design and construction of chimneys and flues for fuel-burning appliances.

9.21.2.1. Lining. Chimneys shall be lined with firebrick, clay liners, or other approved materials to protect the masonry from heat and corrosion.

9.21.3.1. Clearance. Chimneys shall be installed with adequate clearance to combustible materials to prevent fire hazards.
