NBC 9.23.14: Sheathing and Subflooring Standards

9.23.14.1. General. Sheathing and subflooring shall be installed to provide a continuous and rigid surface for exterior cladding and finished flooring.

9.23.14.3. Subflooring. Subflooring shall be glued and fastened to joists to prevent squeaks and increase the overall rigidity of the floor system.

9.23.14.4. Wall Sheathing. Wall sheathing shall be installed with the long dimension across the studs and fastened to provide maximum racking resistance.
