NBC 9.31: Stairs, Ramps, Handrails and Guards

9.31.1.1. Scope. This Section applies to the design and construction of stairs, ramps, handrails, and guards.

9.31.2.1. Stair Dimensions. Treads and risers shall be within the prescribed dimensions to ensure safe passage.

9.31.3.1. Guards. Guards shall be provided at all points where there is a vertical drop of more than 600 mm.
